Dhaka, December 23, 2018: Honorable President, People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Md Abdul Hamid handed over certificates among the graduating members of the courses as the Chief Guest at graduation ceremony of National Defence Course 2018 and Armed Forces War Course 2018 was held today, Sunday (23-12-2018) at Sheikh Hasina Complex Auditorium in DSCSC at Mirpur Cantonment, Dhaka.
The Hon’ble President congratulated all course members of National Defense Course -2018 and Armed Forces War Course -2018 for successful completion of the courses. He expressed his deep satisfaction about the high standard of National Defence College curriculam covering different aspects in pursuance of national security. Highlighting the role of Armed Forces in nation building, the Hon’ble President said that, the partnership developed between the people, armed forces and civil services will strengthen further with appropriate knowledge of own people and country. He also appraised Government’s relentless efforts and success in implementing the objectives of liberation war in every sphere of our lives encompassing socio-politics, economy, international relations etc.
This year the National Defence Course comprises of total 76 Course Members of Bangladesh Armed Forces, Civil Services and Overseas military officers. Allied officers from Egypt, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Nepal, Niger, Oman, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka and Tanzania joined this course. The Armed Forces War Course comprises of thirty five (35) officers of Bangladesh Armed Forces.
Commandant, National Defence College, Lieutenant General Sheikh Mamun Khaled, SUP, rcds, psc, PhD congratulated the graduating members and thanked the faculty members and staff officers of the college for their dedicated efforts in conducting the courses successfully. At the outset, the Commandant paid deep tribute and homage to the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and all the freedom fighters who laid down their lives during the war of liberation. He also expressed his profound indebtedness and gratitude to the Hon’ble President for his gracious presence and for encouraging National Defence College to pursue excellence in security and development studies of Bangladesh.
Major General Tarique Ahmed Siddique (Retd) was present in the program as special guest.Among others, High Commissioners and Ambassadors of different countries in Bangladesh, Chiefs of three services and many other senior military and civil services officers, Vice Chancellors and Professors of different Universities, distinguished citizens and Defence Advisers & Attaches of different countries in Bangladesh attended the Graduation Ceremony.
