Dhaka, 01 October :- The inauguration ceremony of Cyber Security Awareness Month 2024 of Bangladesh Air Force has been held at Air Headquarters Auditorium, Dhaka Cantonment on Tuesday (01-10-2024). The Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh Air Force Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, BBP, OSP, GUP, nswc, psc graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Chief of Air Staff said it is both enlightening and encouraging to witness the launch of the first Cyber Security Awareness Month in BAF. He also said that the message was clear cyber security is no longer just a technical subject, but it is an essential and critical part of our everyday life. He mentioned that, the protection of sensitive information is one of the most crucial benefits of strong cyber security measures and with the increasing number of cyber threats and attacks, it has become imperative for organizations and individuals to safeguard their sensitive data from unauthorized access and potential breaches.
Chief of Air Staff also said that by addressing these dangers head-on and implementing effective cyber security measures, we can mitigate the risks and protect ourselves against potential harm. Air Chief referred that cyber security isn’t just the responsibility of our IT experts, it requires all of us to work together, to keep ourselves safe in cyberspace and through these collective efforts, Bangladesh Air Force will continue to be a pioneer in best cyber security practices and set an example for others to follow.
Mentionable that, Director of the Directorate of Cyber Warfare and Information Technology acted as the Chief Organizer. Chief of Air Staff has appreciated the efforts of the Directorate of Cyber Warfare and Information Technology for taking the initiative and encouraged all to stay aware and cautious. He also mentioned seeing the progress we will make together over the course of this month-long program and beyond.
BAF officers, Airmen and other members from Air Headquarters, BAF Base Bashar and BAF Base Kurmitola were present at the occasion. Rest representatives from other Bases were present through Video Tele Conference.
