MIST Achieves Outstanding Success at Bangladesh Innovation Fair 2026

Dhaka, 17 September 2026 (Thursday): The Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) has achieved remarkable success at the Bangladesh Innovation Fair 2026, held at Novo Theatre in Dhaka from 12 to 14 September 2026. More than 73 universities and higher educational institutions from across the country participated in the fair, showcasing their innovative projects. Following a competitive evaluation process, 50 projects were selected for exhibition before the Prime Minister. Among them, six projects were from MIST, the highest number contributed by any single university. More notably, two MIST projects secured positions among the Top 10, marking the highest achievement by a single participating university. The two award-winning projects from MIST were “Water Repellent Jute Fabric” and “Voice Assist Device.” The innovators of each of these two projects received a prize of Tk 100,000 (one lakh) in recognition of their outstanding achievements. The ‘Water Repellent Jute Fabric’ project introduces an environmentally friendly coating technology for jute-based products such as shopping bags, laptop bags, mobile carriers and other everyday items. The ‘Voice Assist Device’ has been developed to help children who are unable to communicate verbally, particularly children with autism, express their basic needs more easily. MIST’s success at Bangladesh Innovation Fair 2026 demonstrates its growing capability in science, technology, and innovation-driven research. The achievement is expected to further encourage MIST’s faculty members, researchers, and students to pursue impactful research and innovative solutions and contribute more significantly to technology-driven national development.
