Dhaka, 28 July: Inter-Base Swimming and Water Polo Competition-2022 of Bangladesh Air Force concluded at Naval Headquarters’ Swimming Complex at Banani on Thursday (28-07-2022). 07 teams of Bangladesh Air Force took part in the competition.
BAF Base Zahurul Haque team became champion by securing 09 gold, 07 silver and 07 bronze medals and BAF Base Bangabandhu team became runners-up by securing 04 gold, 02 silver and 04 bronze medals. AC-2 Khokon of BAF Base Zahurul Haque team was adjudged the best swimmer of the competition.
Meanwhile, BAF Base Zahurul Haque clinched the title of water polo championship by beating BAF Base Birsreshto Matiur Rahman team by 05-04 goals in the final. Sergeant Newton of BAF Base Zahurul Haque team was adjudged the best player in the water polo competition. Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Maintenance) Air Vice Marshal Sade Uddin Ahmed, BSP, BUP, ndc, nswc, psc witnessed the final day competition as Chief Guest and distributed prizes among the winners.
Mentionable that Director, Directorate of Communication and Electronics Air Commodore Md Towhidul Islam, BBP, ndc, psc inaugurated this 3 days long competition on 26 July 2022. Among others Air Officer Commanding of Air Headquarters Unit, Senior Officers, Airmen and other members of Air Headquarters Unit were present on the occasion.
