Jashore, December 12:- The President Parade of 75 BAFA (Bangladesh Air Force Academy) Course and Direct Entry 2018 of Bangladesh Air Force was held at Jashore, BAF Academy parade ground on Wednesday (12-12-2018).
Honourable President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Md Abdul Hamid attended the ceremony as Chief Guest. The Honourable President reviewed the smartly turned-out parade, took salute at the impressive march past and handed over trophies, certificates & flying badges among the flight cadets.
Flight Cadet Squadron Junior Under Officer Riana Azad was awarded with the most coveted “Sword of Honour” for her best all round performance in no 75 BAFA (Bangladesh Air Force Academy) Course and Flight Cadet BM Tanvir Islam Rabby was presented æCommandant’s Trophy” for his best performance in General Service Training in No 75 Flight Cadet’s Course. Flight Cadet RHM Nafee received æBir Sreshto Matiur Rahman Trophy” for his best performance in Flying Training in No 75 Flight Cadet’s Course. Flight Cadet Md Nafiz-Al-Manar received æChief of Air Staff Trophy” for his best all round performance in No 75 Flight Cadet’s Course (Ground Branch). Number 01 Squadron was adjudged the æChampion Squadron” and was accorded Academy Colour. It is mentionable that Flight Cadet Riana Azad created history by becoming the first woman in Bangladesh Air Force to receive the coveted ‘Sword of Honour’ for her best all round performance since inclusion of Female officers in BAF in 2000.
In his address, the Honourable President said that a professional and modern Air Force is essential for retaining the independence and safeguarding the sovereignty of any nation. Present government has taken various steps to modernize our Air Force. The Honourable President also expressed the recent development activities of Bangladesh Air Force by this government. Honourable President paid tribute to the Greatest Bengali of all ages, Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and remembered the contribution with gratitude in development of Bangladesh Air Force.
Total 61 Flight Cadets including 10 Female Flight Cadest were commissioned this time. Flight Cadet Academy Under Officer K M Mahfuzul Karim commanded the parade which was followed by a spectacular fly past of different aircraft of BAF Academy.
Among others, high civil and military officials, diplomats of Foreign Missions in Bangladesh, local dignitaries and guardians of the Flight Cadets were present on the occasion.
Earlier, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, BBP, OSP, ndu, psc and Commandant BAF Academy Air Commodore Muhammad Shafqat Ali, BSP, nswc, afwc, psc received Honourable President on his arrival at Bangladesh Air Force Academy Parade Ground.
