Dhaka, 08 December 2018: A total of 257 Officer Cadets formally passed out from Bangladesh Military Academy (BMA) through an auspicious ceremony at Bhatiary, Chattogram today, Saturday (08-12-2018). Among them 217 Male Cadets and 37 Female Cadets from 76 BMA Long Course have been commissioned in Bangladesh Army. There were also 02 Cadets fromThe Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and 01Cadet from Sri Lanka, who passed out through this ceremony on successful completion of their military training.
Honourable President of the People’s Republic of the Bangladesh Mr. Md. Abdul Hamid, reviewed the smartly turned out contingent and took salute of the colourful parade as the Chief Guest. He also distributed the awards among the award winning Cadets for their outstanding performance.
Battalion Senior Under Officer A. K. M Injamamul Haque was awarded with the most prestigious ‘Sword of Honour’,for the all round performance. Company Senior Under Officer Ibnee Ezaz Hasan received the ‘Chief of Army Staff’ (CAS) Gold Medal’ for the best performance in military subjects.
The Cadets formally took oath and were adorned with the badges of rank by the Honourable Chief Guest and their respective guardians.

Earlier,the Chief of Army Staff Bangladesh Army General Aziz Ahmed,BSP, BGBM, PBGM, BGBMS, psc, G, pscreceived the Chief Guest on his arrival at the BMA Parade Ground.
The spectacular and colourful parade was witnessed by the Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Nizamuddin Ahmed, the Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, Members of the Parliament, distinguished Diplomats, General Officer Commanding, Army Training and Doctrine Command, Lt General Md Nazimuddin, Commandant of Bangladesh Military Academy, Major General Anwarul Momen, General Officer Commanding, 24 Infantry Divisionand Area Commander, Chattogram Area Major General S M Matiur Rahman, high ranking military and other government officials, local elites and guardians of the newly commissioned officers.
