Dhaka, 28 February: The Annual Cultural Programme and Prize Giving Ceremony 2024-25 of BAF Shaheen English Medium College (SEMC) was held on Thursday (27-02-2025) at the Shaheen Hall. Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operations) Air Vice Marshal Javed Tanveer Khan, OSP, BSP, ndc, afwc, acsc, psc graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest.
The Chief Guest presented special awards to honour the outstanding achievements of BAF SEMC students in O-Level and A-Level Cambridge Examinations, June-2024. Notably, three students earned the prestigious ‘Top in the World’ in Mathematics-D at O Level, while another three achieved the same distinction in A Level Mathematics. He also acknowledged the dedicated efforts of the teachers from the Department of Mathematics for their exceptional guidance and support in preparing the students for success”
Later on, Farzeena Fatima Khan was recognized as the “Best Student of 2024-25” in the Junior group, while Nur-E-Naziha earned the same accolade in the Senior Group for outstanding academic achievements and co-curricular involvement. Additionally, Nuruzzaman, Mohammad Amjad Hossain and M. Mofazzal Hossain were honoured with the “Best Teacher of 2024-25” awards in the School, College and special categories respectively in recognition of their remarkable contributions.
The Chief Guest applauded the notable achievements of the students and expressed his confidence that the college would continue its prosperous trend in the future. Air Officer Commanding of BAF Base Bashar and Chairman of the Governing Body of the college Air Vice Marshal Mohammed Khair Ul Afsar, GUP, ndc, psc was also present on the occasion.
In the welcome speech, the Principal of BAF SEMC, Group Captain Taslim Ahmed, psc. highlighted the college’s outstanding achievements in academics and co-curricular activities. The Annual Cultural Programme and Prize Giving Ceremony featured impressive performances by talented students, including songs, recitations, dances, and drama. The event was graced by high-ranking officials of Bangladesh Air Force, as well as parents, teachers, and students of the college.
