Dhaka , 24 September 2019: The Final round and prize distribution ceremony of a two-day “BUP Film Fest-2019”washeld on 24 September 2019 (Tuesday) at Bijoy Auditorium of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). This Film Fest was conducted by BUP under the supervision of Mass Communication and Journalism (MC&J) of Faculty of Security and Strategic Studies (FSSS). Respected Treasurer of BUP, Air Commodore Muhammad Belal, BUP, ndu, ndc, psc, GD(P) inaugurated the festival on 23 September 2019.
The aim of this Film Fest-2019 was to provide opportunities to the young film makers to develop their interpersonal skills on different issues of films through the participation with media student from various universities of the country. About 200 contestants from 27 universities participated in the Film fest.
On first day, Fagun Haway directed by Tauquir Ahmed was screened. And selected short films submitted by the participants were also screened. Besides movie screening, A workshop was held. Famous director Amitav Reza Chowdhury talked with film enthusiasts about filmmaking and directing.
On its second day, Hasina: A Daughter’s Tale was screened in the morning. After that various competition like cine quiz, movie debate, cosplay was held. There was another workshop by cinematographer Pankaj Palit who shared his lifetime experiences about cinematography
Honorable Railways Minister Mr. Nurul Islam Sujan, MP, Government of People’s Republic of Bangladesh was present as the Chief Guest and distributed prizes among the winners where BUP VC Major General Md. Emdad-ul-Bari, ndc, psc, te was present as Special Guest in the closing ceremony.
Besides, BUP High Teachers, Officials, Officers, Students, Invited Guest from different universities and Contestants were participated in the fest.
