Dhaka, 09 October 2019:- Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, BBP, OSP, ndu, psc awarded BAF Colour to 25 Sqn, 201 Maintainance Unit, 203 Maintenance Unit and Aero Medical Institute of BAF for their professional excellence at Bangladesh Air Force Base Banghabandhu, Dhaka on Wednesday (09-10-2019).
On his arrival at BAF Base Banghabandhu, Chief of Air Staff was cordially received by Air Officer Commanding of BAF Base Banghabandhu, Air Vice Marshal M Sayed Hossain, BSP, GUP, ndu, psc. During the Colour Award Ceremony, Chief of Air Staff witnessed the parade at the parade ground of Bangladesh Air Force Base Banghabandhu. The parade was commanded by Wg Cdr Md Masudur Rahman, GD(P).
Chief of Air Staff took part in a special monajat offered for the preservation of Bangladesh Air Force Colour. While addressing to all, Chief of Air Staff recalled the valiant contribution of the members of Bangladesh Air Force during the Liberation War. In his speech, Chief of Air Staff urged all ranks of Bangladesh Air Force to be more skilled and highly professional. He hoped that BAF will continue its operational activities both in space and beyond in future. He also mentioned that BAF will mark its contribution to the development of Aviation Sector of Bangladesh. He thanked all members of the Squadron and Units for achieving prestigious BAF colour and advised them to uphold the honour, dignity and pride of BAF colour through the patriotism and professionalism. Later, Chief of Air Staff signed a visitor’s book. Among others, Principal Staff Officers of BAF and other members of Bangladesh Air Force were present on the occasion.
Mentionable that Bangladesh Air Force has been performing various duties at national and international arena with great reputation and efficiency. Bangladesh Air Force Base Banghabandhu has been a regular and important contributor to all these responsibilities. In addition to the usual routine activities, the Base has been ensuring Air Defence of whole Bangladesh, providing necessary support to army, navy and other forces, participating in disaster management and assisting civil administration. As recognition, National Standard Award was handed over to Bangladesh Air Force Base Banghubandhu by Honourable Prime Minister of the Government of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina on 04 December 2016 for all these versatile contributions. In line with this, the said Squadron and Units of BAF were awarded with BAF Colour as the recognition of their contributions to the implementation of Forces Goal-2030.
