Dhaka, 01 September: Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) observed 49th martyrdom anniversary of former Chief of Air Staff Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Khademul Bashar, Bir Uttam and Squadron Leader Mofijul Haque on Monday (01-09-2025) with due dignity and solemnity. Air Vice Marshal Khademul Bashar possesses the dignity for commanding the 6th sector during Liberation War of Bangladesh. Bangladesh Air Force remembers this heroic freedom fighter with due respect and honour for his glorious contribution in achieving independence and building Bangladesh Air Force. This brave pilot was martyred on 01 September 1976 in a tragic air crash. Mentionable that Squadron Leader Mofijul Haque was also martyred in the same air crash.
On this occasion, doa mahfil was arranged at the central mosques of all BAF Bases and Units. A special munajat was also offered seeking divine blessings for the salvation of departed souls and for the continued peace and prosperity of the country. Senior BAF officers, airmen and civilians were present in those doa mahfils. Besides, Bangladesh Air Force Base Bir Uttam AK Khandker organized doa and Holy Quran recitation at their graveyards. Senior BAF officers, airmen and other members were present in the dua mahfil.
