Dhaka, August 20:- Bangladesh Air Force observed the 51st martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Birsreshto Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman on Saturday (20-08-2022) with due solemnity. On this occasion, Doa mahfil was arranged at BAF Bases and units. Special munajat was also offered seeking divine blessings for the departed soul.
His noble heroic sacrifice in 1971 War of Liberation was remembered with high esteem. In the Doa mahfil, officers, airmen and other members of BAF were present. Earlier in the morning, Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Plans) Air Vice Marshal AHM Fazlul Haque, BBP, BSP, ndu, afwc, psc took part in special munajat offered for the salvation of the departed soul of Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman at the Martyred Intellectuals’ Graveyard at Mirpur and commemorated his contribution with great solemnity.
Among others, Air Officer Commanding of Bangladesh Air Force Base Bangabandhu Air Vice Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, OSP, GUP, nswc, psc, Senior Officers and Airmen from Air Headquarters, BAF Bases at Dhaka area and family members of Birsreshto Matiur Rahman were present on the occasion.
Besides, different programs were arranged at different schools and colleges of Bangladesh Air Force where biography of Birsreshto Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman was highlighted and special munajat was offered for the salvation of his departed soul.
