Dhaka, 28 February:- Annual exercise of Bangladesh Air Force “WINTEX-2023” comes to end on 28 February 2023. Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Shaikh Abdul Hannan, BBP, BUP, nswc, fawc, psc has visited different Bases during the exercise to witness the performance & activities. The exercise was conducted by Air Command Operation Center (ACOC) under the overall plan of Bangladesh Air Force.
During the exercise, the pilots of Bangladesh Air Force practiced various types of aerial tactics including air strikes, interceptions, surveillance of enemy positions, supply of logistic, transportation of troops and weapons, special operations, search and rescue missions etc. The exercise was conducted in three phases, Communication Exercise (COMEX), Logistic Exercise (LOGEX) and Live Exercise (LIVEX). During this exercise, identification of the enemy aircraft through various radar squadrons were carried out and practiced the mechanism to neutralize the attack with the help of fighter and missile unit. Notable exercises were Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) mission by BAF helicopter and BAF Commando team, Emergency logistics supply by BAF transport aircraft, identification of explosive and neutralizing it by BAF Bomb Disposal Unit and Scramble by Air Defense Alert (ADA) aircraft to neutralize enemy intruders.
All the BAF personnel and weapon systems of Bangladesh Air Force including fighters, transport aircrafts, helicopters and Missile units participated in this exercise from different BAF Bases, Stations and Units including Sylhet, Tangail, Lalmonirhat, Shamshernagar, Barishal, Rasulpur and Sudharam. It is mentionable that Bangladesh Army, Navy, Police, Civil Defense and BNCC (Air Wing) also participated in this exercise to make the exercise more effective and realistic. Through this exercise, existing combat capability of Bangladesh Air Force will be assessed and further enhanced.
