Dhaka, April 16:- A total 16 Aircrew of Bangladesh Air Force will depart from Shah Amanat International Airport, Chattogram for China on Friday (17-04-2020) by BAF C-130J aircraft to transport essential healthcare aids from China to prevent coronavirus. Air Commodore Md Zahidur Rahman GD(P) of Bangladesh Air Force will lead the team. Mentionable that BAF C-130J aircraft arrived at Chattogram on Thursday (16-04-2020) from Bangladesh Air Force Base Bangabandhu, Dhaka to deprt for China. Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh Air Force Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, BBP, OSP, ndu, psc provided necessary guidance to carry out the mission.
In compliance with the policies published by the Government of Bangladesh, Armed Forces is conducting various activities under the direction of Honourable Prime Minister to prevent coronavirus. In line with this, Bangladesh Armed Forces has adopted a plan to collect medical aids including N-95 mask, Surgical mask, Elect Thermometer, Medical Safety Glasses, Protective Gloves, Goggles and PPE in order to strengthen the coronavirus prevention system of Bangladesh in response to the Chinese government’s proposal. A BAF transport aircraft left for China to serve the purpose of collecting medical aids from China. It is to note that Bangladesh Air Force is providing emergency aviation transportation and medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) support in aid to civil power under Armed Forces Division to prevent coronavirus.
For the outstanding efforts of China Government in combating coronavirus and for their sincere support to various countries of the world including Bangladesh to prevent the spread of coronavirus, Bangladesh Armed Forces sent some souvenir which bear the tradition of Bangladesh like handicraft items for the Armed Forces of China and other related support agencies as a sign of friendship. It is also important to note that healthcare aids (PPE, masks and sanitizers etc) collected from China will be brought by the same aircraft to provide various entities engaged in combating coronavirus in Bangladesh under the initiative of the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. It is expected that BAF C-130J aircraft will return to the country on 18-04-2020 with the medical equipments.
