Dhaka, June 17:- A total 15 Aircrew of Bangladesh Air Force departed from Bangladesh Air Force Base Bangabandhu, Dhaka for South Korea on Wednesday (17-06-2020) by Bangladesh Air Force C-130J aircraft to transport essential medical aids from South Korea to prevent coronavirus. Air Commodore Syed Sayeedur Rahman, afwc, psc, GD(P) of Bangladesh Air Force led the team. Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh Air Force Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, BBP, OSP, ndu, psc provided necessary guidance to carry out the mission.
In compliance with the policies published by the Government of Bangladesh, Armed Forces is conducting various activities under the direction of Honourable Prime Minister to prevent coronavirus. In line with this, Bangladesh Armed Forces has adopted a plan to collect medical aids including Mask, Negative Pressure Machine, Detection Kit and PPE provided by some non-governmental organizations which is initiated by the Defence Wing of Bangladesh Embassy at South Korea in co-operation with the South Korean Government in order to strengthen the coronavirus prevention system of Bangladesh. A Bangladesh Air Force transport aircraft C-130J left for South Korea to serve the purpose of collecting medical aids. Mentionable that Bangladesh Air Force is providing emergency aviation transportation and medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) support in aid to civil power under Armed Forces Division to prevent coronavirus.
For the outstanding efforts of South Korean Government in combating coronavirus and for their sincere support to various affected countries of the world including Bangladesh to prevent the spread of coronavirus, Bangladesh Government sent some souvenir items by the said aircraft which bear the tradition of Bangladesh as a sign of friendship. It is expected that Bangladesh Air Force C-130J aircraft will return to Bangladesh on 18-06-2020 with the medical aids.
