Dhaka, 30 May: The closing and prize distribution ceremony of Inter-Base Swimming and Water Polo Competition-2024 of Bangladesh Air Force held at Naval Headquarters’ Swimming Complex at Banani on 30 May 2024, Thursday.
BAF Base Zahurul Haque team became champion by securing 05 gold, 05 silver and 06 bronze medals and BAF Base Bangabandhu team became runners-up by securing 05 gold, 02 silver and 03 bronze medals. Meanwhile, BAF Base Birsreshto Matiur Rahman team clinched the title of water polo championship by beating BAF Base Bangabandhu team by 4-2 goals in the final. Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Maintenance) Air Vice Marshal Md Zahidul Sayeed, BUP, ndc, psc witnessed the final day competition as Chief Guest and distributed prizes among the Winners and Runner up.
Among others Air Officer Commanding of Air Headquarters (Unit), Senior Officers and other members were present on the occasion. Mentionable that Air Officer Commanding of Air Headquarters (Unit) Air Commodore Md Abu Rayhan, GUP, BUP, ndc, psc inaugurated the competition on 26 May 2024. 07 teams of Bangladesh Air Force took part in the competition.
