Dhaka, Dec 19: Bangladesh Air Force rescued 04 students trapped in inaccessible hill in Himchhari area of Cox’s Bazar on Saturday (19-12-2020) and brought them to Cox’s Bazar Airport by AW-139 search and rescue helicopter of Bangladesh Air Force.
Bangladesh Air Force has always been providing emergency assistance in dealing with any national crisis. BAF has been continuing its Emergency Air Transport and Medical Evacuation (MADAVAC) service with professionalism ensuring its commitment ‘In Aid to Civil Power’. In line with this, the search and rescue mission was conducted under the necessary direction of the Chief of Air Staffof Bangladesh Air Force Air Chief Marshal MasihuzzamanSerniabat, BBP, OSP, ndu, psc. It is to be noted that on Saturday (19-12-2020) morning 04 students came to visit and lost their way atDarianagar hill in Himchhari area of Cox’s Bazar. Then,they called 999 (National Emergency Service). Later, Bangladesh Air Force Base Zahurul Haque, Chattogram formed a search and rescue team after being informed and conducted a search and rescue mission by BAF AW-139 search and rescue helicopterat 1638 hrs‘In Aid to Civil Power’. The search and rescue helicopter reached Cox’s Bazar at 1706 hrsand rescued four students & brought them to Cox’s Bazar Airport at 1724 hrs in coordination with BAF Base Sheikh Hasina, Cox’s Bazar.
