Dhaka, 23 June 2025 – The inauguration ceremony of post-flood development projects in Feni area by Bangladesh Air Force was held on Monday (23-6-2025). In 2024, during the flash flood in the south eastern region of our country, With professionalism Bangladesh Air Force came forward to support the flood victims. For this continuation, Honorable Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, BBP, OSP, GUP, nswc, psc inaugurated the development projects as the Chief Guest. The Chief of Air Staff inaugurated the newly constructed two-storied ‘Shaheen Bhaban’ at Habib Ullah Khan High School located at Durgapur, Chagolnaiya Upazila and various other development projects in Chagolnaiya and Fulgazi Upazila of Feni district. After the inauguration, he addressed the gathering and visited Durgapur Singhanagar Government Primary School and Nurul Quran Islamia Madrasa to oversee the developmental work there.
Mentionable that, In 2024, during the flash flood in the south eastern region of our country, Cumilla, Noakhali and to the heavily affected Feni district. In the midst of the flood, the hostile weather conditions and isolated communication systems, Bangladesh Air Force came forward to support the flood victims with professionalism, which was quite challenging. In this situation, under the guidence of the chief Adviser and under the overall supervision of the chief of Air Staff, by assessing the situation to aerial reconnaissance missions carried out by helicopters and UAV. Bangladesh Air Force assisted the flood victims by distributing necessary relief, establishing medical camp and conducting emergency rescue and evacuation missions. During that time, Honorable Chief of Air Staff visited the flood affected areas and instructed to start the rehabilitation activities immediately after the flood water receded. Under the directives of the Chief of Air Staff, Air Force members provided necessary furniture and educational materials to different educational institutions which helped the students to return to schools within the shortest possible time. As the part of post-flood rehabilitation and restoration activities, the Air Force implemented numerous development projects in various locations of Chagolnaiya and Fulgazi upazila of Feni district which includes construction and renovation of various institutions like schools, madrasas, orphanages, religious place of worship and roads. This developmental activities have already been successfully completed. Besides, considering the growing number of students and the demand of local population, a two-storied full furnished building named Shaheen Bhaban with a four-story foundation has been constructed at Habib Ullah Khan High School, Durgapur, Chagolnaiya. This newly constructed building is also expected to serve as a shelter during any natural disaster. All these work were carried out efficiently by Bangladesh Air Force Base Bashar and Bangladesh Air Force Base A K Khandakar. In his speech, the Chief of Air Staff first expressed his sincere thanks to honorable Chief Adviser for his timely guidence at the gathering.
He also expressed thanks to all the organizations that have provided financial, relief and overall support in various ways in the implementation of the development projects. He also expressed gratitude for the spontaneous cooperation of the local administration and the locals and assured that the Air Force will stand by the country and the people in such activities in the future as well. Mentionable that Bangladesh Air Force has also undertaken various development projects in Noakhali district.
