Dhaka, 29 May 2024:- The International Day of UN Peacekeepers-2024 was observed with due respect along with other countries of the world on 29 May 2024, Wednesday in Bangladesh. The day long programme began in the morning with “Peacekeepers Run-2024” held at Bangladesh Air Force Base Bashar, Dhaka and Air Force Base Zahurul Haque, Chattogram. Honorable Minister, Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-Operatives Md. Tazul Islam inaugurated the event by releasing pigeons, balloons and festoons in BAF Base Bashar. On the occasion, the Chief Guest, Senior secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Principal Staff Officer of Armed Forces Division and UN resident coordinator delivered speeches highlighting significance of Bangladesh Peacekeeping Forces in UN peacekeeping mission. Representatives from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Armed Forces, Bangladesh Police, UN agencies and Inter Service Organization, Dignitaries and media personnel took part in the events.
