Dhaka, 07 March 2025 (Friday): Early this morning, based on specific intelligence, Bangladesh Army conducted a special operation against top-tier miscreants of UPDF (Main) in Kaukhali area of Rangamati district, Chattogram Hill Tracts.
During the operation, Army patrol discovered a secret hideout of UPDF (Main) Regional Armed Group. Sensing the presence of Army personnel, miscreants quickly fled the scene. Upon conducting a search, Army patrol recovered 17 rounds of pistol ammunition, a binocular, a walkie-talkie set, a hard disk, miscreants uniforms, extortion receipts, and various other equipment from the hideout. Mentionable that during the operation, UPDF (Main) attempted to obstruct the operation by employing their usual tactics—mobilizing a group of tribal women to stage protests and trying to snatch seized ammunition and equipment. Despite such provocative actions, Army exercised utmost patience and professionalism, successfully bringing the situation under control.
Additionally, it is important to mention that, just a few days ago, several consignments of arms and ammunition belonging to different armed groups from the hill tracts were intercepted by law enforcement agencies of a neibouring country. This development was later reported in various news media. Army will continue its operations against all regional armed groups who threaten peace in the hill tracts and pose a risk to national sovereignty.
