Dhaka, September 28: The premiere show of the documentary films ‘Heroes of BAF’ and ‘Kilo Flight’ made on the contribution and sacrifice of the members of the Bangladesh Air Force in the Independence War in 1971 and the formation of the Bangladesh Air Force during the war was displayed at BAF Shaheen Hall, Dhaka on Saturday (28-09-2019).
The documentaries have been made under the management of Bangladesh Air Force. The premiere show was organized to mark the 48th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Air Force. H T Imam, Political Adviser to the Hon’ble Prime Minister, inaugurated the premiere show as the Chief Guest. Earlier, on arrival of the Chief Guest at the venue, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, BBP, OSP, ndu, psc welcomed him.
In his address, the Chief Guest recalled the martyrs of the War of Liberation including Birshresto Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman and members of Bangladesh Air Force with deep respect. He appreciated the initiative of making these documentaries based on the outstanding contribution of BAF members in the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971 and thanked Bangladesh Air Force. He also witnessed the premiere show and praised the documentaries. He hoped that the documentaries would be exemplary for future generations as a brilliant example of the spirit of independence and patriotism.
In his address, Chief of Air Staff especially remembered all the martyrs who had sacrificed their lives for the cause of independence and the heroic contribution of the Air Force members in the independence war of Bangladesh. He expressed his gratitude to the brave freedom fighters and members of the Kilo Flight who took part in interview of the documentaries. Also, he extended his sincere thanks to all those who assisted directly and indirectly during the making of the documentaries.
Among others Asaduzzaman Noor, MP,, senior military and civil officials, Principal Staff Officers of Air Force Headquarters, Brave Warriors of Kilo Flight, invited guests and artistes involved in documentary production were present on the occasion.
