17th JOINT GOVERNING BODY MEETING OF NDC AND DSCSC HELD
Dhaka, 15 December 2019:- The 17th Joint Governing Body Meeting of National Defence College (NDC) and Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) was held today, Sunday (15 December 2019) at Sheikh Hasina Complex of DSCSC, Mirpur Cantonment, Dhaka . The Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina graced the occasion as the Chairman of the Joint Governing Body. Chiefs of the three services, Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division, Secretaries of Public Administration, Finance, Defence, Foreign Affairs and Secondary and Higher Education Division of Education Ministry including Vice-Chancellors of the University of Dhaka, Jahangirnagar, National University and Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) were present in the meeting.
Hon’ble Prime Minister expressed her deep satisfaction over the progress and development of both the prestigious military institutions of the country. Hon’ble PM welcomed the newly appointed members of the governing body and thanked the previous members of the governing body for their active participation and valuable contribution during their tenure.
The Hon’ble Prime Minister instructed the college authorities to be in constant pursuit for updating Course Curriculum/Modules to meet our future security and development needs and to contribute in Armed Forces to attain objectives of Roadmap 2041 to become a developed country. She also reiterated on the need of a knowledge based organization and emphasized on the importance of vibrant civil-military relationship. The meeting started with an opening speech by the Honorable Chairman which was followed by the presentations of resume of NDC and DSCSC by the Commandants of NDC and DSCSC respectively. The Governing Body reviewed the progress of previous decisions and discussed on issues in the agenda of the current meeting. At the end of meeting, both the Commandant of NDC and DSCSC expressed their deep gratitude to the Hon’ble Prime Minister for her kind presence and for rendering constant support and guidance for development of both the institutions.
