Dhaka, 09 April: A two-member team named `Dreamers Fin’ of Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) left Dhaka today for USA to attend Aero Design competition-2019 to be held in Arizona, USA from 11 April to 14 April 2019.
This is one of the largest Aero Design competition in world to be organized by American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
Taimum Al Nafiz and Sajjib Hasan Asif of Aeronautical Engineering Department of MIST is participating in the competition.
A 24-member team earlier took part in the design phase of the remote controller air craft in USA and after successful evaluation the team was accepted by the AIAA to join the competition.
Mentionable that MIST team is the only team from Bangladesh which was selected by AIAA to take part in the Aeronautical Design/Build/Fly (BDF) competition.
For this competition the students of MIST fabricated a remote controlled aircraft with foldable wing utilizing Brushless Motor, DC Motor, Servo, Propeller, Arduino Microcontroller, Transmitter, Receiver etc. Also the fabricated aircraft is designed to carry 4 payloads.The remote controlled aircraft was designed and fabricated under the guidance of Air Commodore Md Abdus Salam, BPP, psc, Head of the Department of Aeronautical Engineering Department, MIST.
For this purpose the unveiling ceremony of the fabricated remote controlled aircraft was held on 8 April in MIST in presence of Commodore M Munir Hassan, (E), BN, Acting Commandant, MIST. The participants solicit kind prayer from all for their success in the forthcoming competition in Arizona, USA.
