Dhaka, June 14: The President Parade (Summer)-2023 marking the commissioning of No 82 BAFA (Bangladesh Air Force Academy) Course and Direct Entry-2023A of Bangladesh Air Force was held at Jashore at the BAF Academy, Wednesday (14 Jun 2023).
Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Shaikh Abdul Hannan, BBP, BUP, nswc, fawc, psc, attended the ceremony as Chief Guest. He reviewed the smartly turned-out parade and took salute at the impressive march past. He handed over trophies and flying badges among the Graduating Officer Cadets.
Officer Cadet Kashshaf Mahbub Labib was presented with the coveted ‘‘Sword of Honour’’ for his best all round performance, Officer Cadet Wasif Ahammod received “Birsreshto Matiur Rahman Trophy” for his best performance in Flying Training and Officer Cadet Sayeda Fariha Yasmin was presented “Commandants Trophy” for his best performance in General Service Training in No 82 BAFA Course. Officer Cadet Sayeda Fariha Yasmin received “Chief of Air Staff Trophy” for his best all round performance in No 82 BAFA Course amongst the Ground Branch officer cadet. In this Summer Semester No.1 Squadron was adjudged the Champion Squadron and was accorded Academy colour.
In his address, the chief guest Chief of Air Staff, Bangladesh Air Force began his speech showing his deep respect to the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bengali of all time. He showed respect to the heroic freedom fighters whose sacrifice gave us the freedom of Bangladesh. He uttered with pride that our father of the nation dreamed of a modern Air Force. To realize his dream, Sheikh Hasina, Hon’ble Prime Minister of People’s Republic of Bangladesh is working tirelessly to make the Bangladesh Air Force stronger and is adding modern aircraft and equipments to Bangladesh Air Force. He also mentioned that maintaining law and order inside the country as well as maintaining world peace, disaster management, sowing seeds in the hilly areas and sending humanitarian aids in other countries show the competency and professionalism of Bangladesh Air Force. He mentioned that the Air Force Academy’s state-of-the-art-training system, due to which cadets from different friendly countries are undergoing training at the academy is exemplary. Finally, he wished the newly commissioned officers success and thanked all the members of Bangladesh Air Force Academy.
Total 22 Officer Cadets including 06 Female Officer Cadet were commissioned this time. Officer Cadet Academy Senior Under Officer Kashshaf Mahbub Labib commanded the parade. The parade was followed by a spectacular fly past of different aircrafts and wonderful aerobatic display of Bangladesh Air Force Academy.
Among others, civil and military high officials, local dignitaries and guardians of the newly commissioned officers were present on the ceremony.
