Dhaka, December 11: At the Graduation Dinner of National Defence Course 2018 and Armed Forces War Course 2018, Adviser to the Hon’ble Prime Minister (Security Affairs) Major General Tarique Ahmed Siddique (retd), emphasized on the role of NDC in building national cohesion to address development challenges in Bangladesh. He was speaking as the Chief Guest to the participants of the Graduation Dinner 2018 on Monday (10-12-2018) at Army Multipurpose Hall Dhaka Cantonment.
As Chief Guest the Adviser congratulated all course members of National Defence Course 2018 and Armed Forces War Course 2018 for successful completion of the course. Further-more he expressed his satisfaction at the high standard of education that is imparted at NDC. He emphasized on the need for greater synergy and integrity among all national forces, be it military or civil, for attaining much coveted goal of national development and security. He also reiterated Government’s continuous effort in developing the country to fulfill the desire of the people of Bangladesh and accomplish the Millennium Development Goals in future.
Commandant, National Defence College, Lieutenant General Sheikh Mamun Khaled congratulated the graduating members and expressed thanks to the faculty members and staff officers of the college for their relentless hard work in making the courses successful. The Commandant expressed profound gratitude to the Chief Guest. He conveyed his felicitation and gratitude to the Chief Guest for the special attention of the Government to NDC. Commandant also made special mention about the patronization and kind direction of Hon’ble PM (Who is also the Chairperson of the Governing Body of NDC) for the progress and development of National Defence College.
The Senior Course Members as representative of Military Services, Civil Services and Allied Countries of National Defence Course and Armed Forces War Course spoke on this occasion. They thanked the Commandant, faculty members, resource personnel and all staff officers of National Defence College for their continuous support and hard work to make both the courses successful.
This year the National Defence Course comprises of twenty nine (29) Brigadier Generals from Bangladesh Army, two (02) Commodores and three (03) Captains from Bangladesh Navy, two (02) Air Commodore and three (03) Group Captains from Bangladesh Air Force. Beside Armed Forces Officers, one (01) Additional Secretary, eleven (11) Joint Secretaries from Administration and other cadres of Civil Services, one (01) Director General from Foreign Service and one (01) Deputy Inspector General from Bangladesh Police participated in the course. Twenty three (23) overseas course members from 12 friendly countries have also participated in National Defence Course 2018. That includes one (01) Brigadier (Army) from Egypt, one (01) Brigadier (Army) , one (01) Commodore (Navy) and one (01) Air Commodore (Air Force) from India, one (01) Staff Colonel (Army) and two (02) Group Captain (Air Force) from Oman, one (01) Brigadier General (Army) from Malaysia, one (01) Brigadier General (Army) from Nepal, one (01) Brigadier (Army) from Pakistan, four (04) Colonel (Army) and one (01) Group Captain (Air Force) from Nigeria, two (02) Brigadier (Army) and one (01) Air Vice Marshal (Air Force) from Sri Lanka, one (01) Staff Colonel (Army) and one (01) Staff Colonel (Air Defence Force) from Royal Saudi Arabia and one (01) Colonel (Army) each from Indonesia, Niger and Tanzania.
This year the Armed Forces War Course comprised of twenty five (25) Lieutenant Colonels from Bangladesh Army, one (01) Captain and four (04) Commanders from Bangladesh Navy and three (03) Group Captains and two (02) Wing Commander from Bangladesh Air Force.
Among others, Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Nizamuddin Ahmed, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, Defence Advisers/ Attaches of different countries in Bangladesh, Professors of different universities, distinguished personalities, and high officials of Defence Forces attended the Graduation Dinner.
