Dhaka, August 04: A daylong seminar, jointly organized by Armed Forces Division (AFD) and Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) on “Growing Cyber Threats around the world and Preparedness for Bangladesh’’ was held on 4th August, 2019, Sunday, at General Mustafiz Multipurpose Hall (GMMPH), MIST. The seminar was aiming at creating awareness and enriching of knowledge base of preparedness for growing cyber threats at personal and organization level through the participation and knowledge sharing of Government, Military, Civil and Inter services organizations’ officials.
The seminar was attended by students and faculty members of MIST and different colleges of the capital along with notable number of high officials from civil and military. Hon’ble state minister of ICT division MoPT&IT, Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP and PSO, AFD Lt Gen Md Mahfuzur Rahman, OSP, rcds, afwc, psc, PhD graced the occasion as chief guest and special guest respectively. In his speech, Hon’ble state minister stressed that the public and private sector need to work together at the back drop of increased global cyber threats. He encouraged starting discussion of cyber security challenges not only at every level of Government and non-government organization, but also at personal level. He hoped that with the able leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the country would be transformed to a secure digital Bangladesh by 2021.
